Biography
Ibrahim Ame is a telecommunications engineer and AI researcher based in Tanzania. He took his B.Sc. in telecommunications engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, then an M.Sc. in artificial intelligence at Near East University in Northern Cyprus. He works in Swahili (native), English, and Chinese.
From 2018 to January 2026 he taught at the University of Dodoma: tutorials and lab work, grading, student project design, and industrial practical training. He stayed with the same faculty for eight years and saw several student cohorts through the full curriculum.
Between 2023 and 2025 he lectured and researched at Near East University in Nicosia. He trained machine learning models for the Health Faculty, wrote on AI methods, advised undergraduate research, and served as vice president of the university's AI and Robotics student club.
Since January 2026 he has been an IT audit officer at the Public Service Social Security Fund (PSSSF) in Dodoma, which runs pensions for Tanzania's public servants. The job is internal technology controls and evidence-based audit work: checking that systems stay reliable and secure when mistakes cost money and public trust. That is a different problem from a research lab, and it shapes how he thinks about putting AI anywhere the stakes are high.
